Painting Mediums

Oil
A classic medium dating back as early as the seventh century; oil paintings stand the test of time and are Thomas’s preferred medium. Request your oil painting for landscapes, portraits, realism, and traditional pieces.

Acrylic
Acrylics are fast drying and vibrant. The various hues and fluorescent color choices will amplify any space. Mainly used for landscapes, “pop” art, and abstracts.

Mixed Media
“Free-for-all” in terms of composition, complexity, texture, and form.

FAQ’s
- How long does a piece of artwork usually take? Based on my average schedule, Acrylic and oil landscapes take an average of two weeks; detailed Oil portraits can take up to a month.
- Will my Artwork be certified? I’ve kept a detailed log of every piece of artwork produced including pictures and year. Certificates of authenticity are available upon request.
- Can you replicate the Mona Lisa for me? In this case I would often advise you to go buy a textured print. If you’re really in it for the experience; I will pull a Harry Donovan and ask for a stipend to produce this piece at a flat in Paris… you know… the wafts of smoke from the cafes and French girls saying “You’re so stooopid’!” get my creative energies flowing.
- What is your inspiration? I have traveled through thirty countries viewing various art and grew up in California; therefore I paint a variety of subjects and find influence on the journey thus far.
- What are the methods for delivery? Shipping is available, local pickup is possible. Larger size canvas (above 36″ W or H) are generally shipped as a roll; you can get them stretched and hung at a framing center.
- Do you paint from life in a session? Often times no, I’m generally busy with other career items and paint at lucrative times of the day.
- Can you paint me like one of your French girls? I don’t have any French girls, see Question #3.
